TOURNAMENT RULES

INTRODUCTORY:

This tournament shall be played under FIFA rules as modified by USYSA and CYSA-S.  All decisions and calls of tournament referees are final.  Any situation not covered by the rules will be resolved by the designated Field Marshall or Tournament Director.

Coaches are responsible for the conduct of players and spectators.

No protests will be allowed.

REGISTRATION:

Teams must check in (at their field) one hour prior to their first scheduled game.

All players must be registered with USYSA and have their laminated player pass and medical release form. A team is allowed 6 loan players.  No players can be added after a team has checked in.

GAME/TEAM CHECK-IN:

The Field Marshall will check ID cards and equipment prior to each game. Players must wear shin guards to play.  Home team will have choice of sides.  In case of conflict, the Home team must change jerseys.  Home team supplies the game ball. Failure to have seven players ready to play within five minutes of scheduled game will constitute a forfeit. 

GAME LENGTH:

ALL teams will be 30 minute running halves.  Five minutes will be allowed for halftime. Overtime will not be played in preliminary rounds.  In flights with semi-final games, ties will go directly to penalty kicks.

Finals will be regulation time for each age bracket.  All Finals will have two five minute overtime periods (not sudden death) and a shootout if required. There will be NO time added to any game for any reason.

 FORMAT: 10 Points max. per game, i.e.  (3-0)

1.  6  points for each win                                               

2.  3  points for each tie

3.  1  point for a shut-out                                              

4.  1 point for each goal scored ( max 3 goals per game)             

5.  4 points each team for 0-0 tie

6.  1 point deducted for each red card issued.  

If teams are tied after pool play games, the following tie-breaker system will be used.

1.   Head-to-head competition

2.   Fewest total goals allowed

3.   Most goals scored (max 5 in any one game)

4.   FIFA penalty kicks

All teams must have a licensed coach and carded administrator at every game.  No team may participate without both.
